The People-Pleaser Exit Plan — Liz Hunter Coaching

A workbook for high-achieving men

You've read the books.
You know what to do.
So why does nothing change?

What if the problem isn't that you don't know enough — but that you've spent years living in your head and not in your life?

You're good at everything except living your own life.

You're the guy who holds it together. The one people rely on. The one who says yes because it's easier than explaining why you don't want to, and who says nothing when something isn't right because you've learned — somewhere along the way — that keeping the peace is safer than speaking your mind.

On paper, your life looks fine. Good job. Relationships. The right boxes ticked. But something is off, and you know it. You feel it as a low-level flatness. A tiredness that sleep doesn't fix. A faint sense that you're performing your life rather than living it — managing everyone else's comfort while quietly starving your own.

You've been told to set better boundaries. You've read the books. You've done the self-reflection. And you still went home and said yes to something you didn't want to do.

Because the problem was never that you didn't know. The problem is that people-pleasing doesn't live in your head. It lives in your body.

And you can't think your way out of something your body is running on autopilot.

Here's what I know about this pattern — from the inside.

I grew up learning that it was safer to stay quiet than to show up fully. I got good at managing rooms, at anticipating what people needed, at making myself smaller so everyone else could feel comfortable. It worked. People liked me. Things stayed smooth.

And then I ended up in a relationship where that same pattern nearly destroyed me. I knew something was wrong. My body was screaming it. But I'd spent so long ignoring my own signals that I'd lost the ability to trust them.

The thing that changed wasn't therapy or journaling or another book about boundaries. It was learning to get back into my body. To feel the yes and the no before my brain could override them. To reconnect with desire, with intuition, with the quiet voice that had been there the whole time.

That's what I built this workbook around. Not theory. Not ten steps. A process that actually moves through the body — the only place where this pattern can genuinely shift.

I'm Liz Hunter, VITA-certified sex, love and relationship coach, and someone who has walked this exact road. I made this because I needed it once, and because I see men who need it every week.

Not features. Outcomes.

Here's what working through this gives you — not what's in it.

  • 01
You'll know exactly where you're giving yourself away. A scored audit across five life areas — relationships, friendships, work, family, and your relationship with yourself — that makes "I give too much" specific and actionable.
  • 02
You'll be able to see what this pattern has actually cost you. Not in the abstract. In time, energy, desire, and identity — named, specific, and real. That's where the real motivation to change lives.
  • 03
You'll understand where the pattern started — without getting lost in it. A guided excavation that helps you see people-pleasing as a strategy you learned, not an identity you're stuck with. That distinction is everything.
  • 04
You'll have a way to feel your own yes and no — before your head takes over. The Yes/No Body Scan and daily check-in practice give you a tool you'll actually use: simple, non-woo, and faster than any analytical process you've tried.
  • 05
You'll know how to say no without blowing up your relationships. The No Ladder moves you from small delays to full renegotiations — with specific scripts, physical preparation tools, and a clear framework for handling the guilt that comes after.
  • 06
You'll know what you actually want — and have a 14-day plan to start living it. A desire excavation, a non-negotiables exercise, and a daily practice that builds the muscle of self-honouring one small choice at a time.

Be honest with yourself for a moment.

This is for you if

  • You know what you should do. You just can't seem to feel your way there.
  • You've done therapy, read the books, listened to the podcasts — and still end up saying yes when you want to say no.
  • You feel vaguely resentful of people you actually love, and you can't fully explain why.
  • Your relationships feel thinner than they should — you're present but not quite there.
  • You're ready for something experiential, not more analysis.
  • You're skeptical of woo but open to something that works.

This is not for you if

  • × You're looking for a quick fix or a list of hacks.
  • × You're not willing to actually write in it — reading alone won't move this.
  • × You believe the problem is everyone else and you're just fine as you are.
  • × You're in acute crisis — this is deep personal work, not emergency support.
  • × You want someone to tell you what to do. This helps you find your own answers.

Three reasons you're about to close this page — and what they're costing you.

"I already know all this stuff. I've done loads of work on myself."

Maybe. But knowing hasn't shifted it, has it? There's a difference between understanding a pattern intellectually and actually changing how you move through the world. This workbook is built for the gap between those two things — the body, not the brain. If knowing were enough, you wouldn't still be living this.

"€19 is fine but I don't have time to actually do it."

You have time. You spend time managing everyone else's needs every day — that's literally what this is about. The first exercise takes ten minutes and will tell you something real about where you are right now. You don't have to do it all at once. But every day you wait is another day the pattern runs unchallenged.

"I'm not sure a PDF workbook can actually do anything for me."

Fair. A workbook won't do the work for you. But this one is structured around the same process I use with men in my coaching practice — excavation, body awareness, graduated behavioural change. This workbook is built on the same process I've used across more than 300 participants in workshops and coaching since 2021. The question is whether you're willing to write honestly in it.

"It was truly empowering to be guided back to my body and pleasure and desires. I go through my day-to-day more attuned to what I want and need and am able to vocalize this not only to myself but also to others."
— Naomi, participant

What it actually costs to figure this out alone.

A single session with a coach or therapist runs €100 to €200 — and you'd spend most of it just describing the problem. A weekend men's retreat costs €800 to €2,000, plus travel. Another business book that tells you to "set healthy boundaries" will cost you €20 and three hours of your life for advice you've already heard.

This workbook gives you the same structured process I use in my coaching practice, designed to move through your body not just your head — with exercises you can return to, a 14-day daily practice, and a closing exercise that most men say hits harder than anything else they've done.

Not because it's clever. Because it asks you to be honest with yourself in a way most content doesn't dare to.

The pattern doesn't wait for a better time.

There's no version of this where waiting makes it easier. The pattern is already running. Every day it goes unchallenged, it costs you something — a conversation you don't have, a want you don't voice, a relationship that stays thinner than it could be.

Nineteen euros won't change your life. But doing this work honestly? That might.
